Doug Zurn

Douglas Zurn ascended the ranks through such recognized establishments as Tartan Yachts, Dieter Empacher and C.W. Paine Yacht Design prior to founding his own firm in the spring of 1993. Zurn's experience in New England spans fifteen years, having worked on various power and sail projects ranging from twenty to ninety-eight feet in length. He is adept in all facets of the design process: conceptualization, job costing, design and production engineering, project management, and marketing. Zurn received his professional degree in yacht design with honors from The Westlawn Institute of Marine Architecture, Stamford, Connecticut. He maintains a professional membership with the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers (SNAME), as well as the American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC).

Zurn's inaugural solo project, the Monomoy 21, which was completed and launched in the summer of 1996, continues to garner praise and admiration, while more recent designs are rapidly accruing similar interest.
